Our Eulogy, Their Creed

By: Joseph Cruz and Stanley Switalski

They infiltrate and they annihilate.
Some are diffident, but become impervious
Due to this surreptitious war.
These soldiers are America’s best,
Aplomb in every battle.
Fighting a desultory war,
We sing this song to laud them.

These soldiers are caught in a perpetual fiasco,
And they face several quandaries.
No matter how much they deplore this unnecessary war,
They comply to every demand.

Suppress! Oppress!
We cannot compromise,
And you must not have remorse.
Smite them to oblivion,
For they are deleterious!”

These words mitigate their situation.
They strategically rectify the war.
Although the sordid commander believes the world shouts in jubilation
Whenever they hear these words.
These words only build our enmity.

[Chorus ("Suppress, Oppress...")]

But the soldiers must follow these words.
And so they pretend to become equable, stolid and recusant.
Yet inside they remain arid, petulant and diffident.

[Chorus]

So here is our subversive eulogy.
To those who “substantiate” our country,
to those who are recluse from their everyday lives.
Your courage is exorbitant
And your dedication is memorable.
But most of all your stamina,
to deal with the torture, battles and false promises,
will never be forgotten.

    FOr you and Joseph:

Those "jiffs" were stuck in my head. (was that the word stanley?) It shows you put tremendous effort in the song, you and Joseph. The words fit in your lyrics! (:
    kudos to the duo musicians

I would just like to say, yes the song sounded terrible (sorry for those who hate rock), but that is because we didn't have enough time to setup the amps properly. They were too loud, Joseph's Amp was turned up too much and the distortion was not set right. If everything was as it was supposed to be, the song would have sounded a lot better. Any other criticism is more than welcome though.

I really like yours and Joseph's song. The vocabulary words fit in with what you guys were saying. I also really like how you guys incorporated the guitar to your lyrics it was nice to hear you two play. It was a good idea that you placed the words on the board so that I could actually keep up with you guys as you sang and played the song. Nice work!!!

Amazing performance.I'm glad I was given the privilege to watch your performance. It is difficult to perform in front of people also to read lyrics while continuing to keep playing. The performance was perfect, your hard worked payed off.

The music itself was really soothing and went along well with the lyrics regardless of not having the amps tuned properly or whatever the case is. Honestly, I thought that the work was really well put together being that there was only a short time limit and so much can be put forth within that amount.
    Kudos. (:

I enjoyed watching you and Joe perform your song. I agree with what you wrote yourself on not having enough time, but besides that I think you two did a good job especially when we had a guest watching in the back.

    Really good show there.
The guitar playing was awesome, and so was the way you put the words on top of the pictures. Good work!
